Romana’s Pilates® New Zealand Instructor Training Studio
Welcome to the Pilates Unlimited Auckland, Romana’s Pilates Independent Instructor Training Programme (IITP).
Our comprehensive Instructor Training Programme is closely modelled on the original work of Joseph and Clara Pilates as well as his protégé Romana Kryzanowska. As the ONLY Romana’s Pilates Certification in New Zealand, we offer unsurpassed excellence in training and Continuing Professional Education. Our international reputation for producing the finest quality Pilates instructors ensure that our graduates are respected in the industry and will be able to employ their skills worldwide with confidence.
What makes Romana's Pilates so special?
When Joseph Pilates passed away he left his studio and work to Romana Kryzanowska: she was his chosen protegee. Of all the Pilates elders (those who trained with Joseph Pilates directly), Romana worked with him the longest and had the deepest understanding of his work. Romana continued to work with Pilates’ wife Clara until she passed away and oversaw all of the training of clients and teachers at the studio. In Joseph Pilates’ life the work was really only taught at his New York studio, in Romana’s lifetime she oversaw the training of countless teachers who went on to open studios worldwide. However, it was Romana who populorised Pilates and made it the global phenomenon it is today.
Why should I choose the Romana’s Pilates Certification Programme?
How do I become an Apprentice?
The training process is a combination of seminars, practical training and testing. This usually requires at least a year of commitment and application. After certification our instructors attend Continuing Professional Education (CPE) each year.
Students are expected to reach a very advanced level before becoming fully certified. You can’t teach an exercise you can’t do. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

How do I become an Apprentice?
Before considering a career as an instructor you must be at an Intermediate Level in the Pilates Method and have a good understanding of the Pilates principles. This is an intense course physically and mentally, so it is important that each applicant is properly prepared.
